Experience:
Taking a Short-Term Memory and Learning Performance Test

The Alzheimer's LifePlan has
started
its ten
year
campaign
to herald the day when Alzheimer's isn't killing people. The Alzheimer's
LifePlan is the first population based Alzheimer's prevention program that
incorporates personal memory fitness management.
The Alzheimer's LifePlan was developed by a
task force of bay area doctors, researchers, cognitive engineers, Internet
Broadcasting specialists and care giving centers. The Alzheimer's
Association's Memory Walk 2003, on Treasure Island, marked the opening of the
BrainLane.net Alzheimer's LifePlan Memory Fitness and Testing Group. As many
as 5,000 volunteers are being sought to join the group, establish their
personal memory fitness accounts and have their health and memory
characteristics monitored for the next ten years.
The project will give researchers valid
information about the patterns of memory loss over a long period of time.
What will be critical is if the individuals involved honestly report their
lifestyle habits, weight, diet and exercise regimes into the program. Special
attention will be given to educate each participant about healthy lifestyles
and safe, easy to administer Alzheimer's treatments that have proven to
reduce a person's chances of developing the disease process.
